Authr

Privacy policy

Last updated 2026-11-04.

Authr is a place to write books. Your manuscript is yours. This page says plainly what we store, why, and who else touches it.

What we collect

  • Your account. When you sign in with Google we receive your email address, name and profile picture. We use them to identify you and show who did what in a shared workspace.
  • Your books. Everything you and your agents write or upload: manuscript text, codex entries, notes, images, comments, brainstorms and their history. We store it so the app works.
  • Usage needed to run the service. Agent runs and their token counts (for your plan's allowance), API key usage times, and standard server logs used for security and debugging.
  • Billing. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; we keep your plan, billing status and Stripe customer ID.

How your writing is used

Only to provide the service to you. We don't sell your data, we don't show you ads, and we don't use your books to train AI models.

When you use an in-app agent, the text it needs (for example the scene, your style guide and relevant codex entries) is sent to the AI model provider that runs that agent, to generate its reply. When you connect an external agent (such as Claude Code, Cursor or your own webhook) you are choosing to give that tool access to your books under its own terms; it can read and do what its API key allows.

Where it's stored

Authr runs on Cloudflare. Book data is stored in Cloudflare's database and file storage. Data is encrypted in transit.

Cookies

We use one sign-in cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser's local storage for preferences such as the theme. This marketing site sets no tracking cookies.

Your choices

  • Export any book at any time as EPUB, DOCX, Markdown, PDF or a full JSON backup.
  • Revoke API keys and remove webhooks whenever you like.
  • Ask us to delete your account and books by writing to support@authr.shop. We'll confirm when it's done.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before it takes effect. Questions: support@authr.shop.
